The Paris Dakar Rally, abbreviated as Dakar Rally, is a professional cross-country rally held every year. There is no limit on whether the driver is a professional or not. About 80% of the contestants are amateurs

Although the name is rally, it is actually an endurance race far away from the road. The terrain that needs to be passed through in the race is much more complex and difficult than that of the ordinary rally, and the participating vehicles are real off-road vehicles, rather than modified cars in the ordinary rally. Most stages of the rally are far away from the road and need to cross sand dunes, mud, grass, rocks and deserts. The daily journey of vehicles ranges from a few kilometers to hundreds of kilometers.

Radio, newspapers and magazines have widely reported, which has attracted the keen attention of more than 500 million people around the world. The official French name of the Paris Dakar Rally is Le Dakar, and each year the event is named after a sponsor or region. The race is a multi vehicle race, which is divided into Motorcycle Group, small car group (including cars and SUVs) and Truck Group. The number of the car starts with 1, 2 and 3 in turn. For example, 105 represents the No. 5 race car of Motorcycle Group, 308 represents the No. 8 race car of small car group, and 512 represents the No. 12 race car of Truck Group. While the number of working car 1 starts with 8. The race sections are distributed in the Sahara desert, Mauritania desert and tropical grassland, which are wide-ranging and even boundless. Compared with WRC, there is basically no ready-made road. In addition to relying on the route of the organizing committee, drivers and pilots also need the help of the compass until today's GPS to reach and pass each assembly point. Unlike WRC, the maintenance team can arrive at the designated area in advance through the general highway to wait for the car to be repaired and replenished. Therefore, each team will charter a special plane to carry all accessories, supplies and maintenance technicians to fly to the designated area before the car. Dozens of planes painted with the logos of their teams stopped together, and the scene was spectacular. When the car with the same logo comes to the maintenance area, it will be concentrated under the wing for maintenance and supply. At this time, it is as interesting as a bird resting under the feathers of a big bird. Therefore, in addition to the great appreciation of the competition, the maintenance area of the city of Dakar in Paris is also very worth seeing. The race also adopts the method of interval departure. However, there are dozens of stages of the race, and each stage is very long. Therefore, there will be a grand scene in which motorcycles, small vehicles and large trucks will go hand in hand in a certain stage.

The process of the Paris Dakar Rally is extremely difficult. The racers have to endure a high temperature of 40 degrees during the day and a low temperature of minus zero at night. Moreover, in addition to the usual car faults, once you lose your way, you will face the situation of fuel, food and even give up the car. Therefore, this is a real competition between man and nature. Because of this, although the prize money for each champion is only 4500 US dollars, it will also attract those players who are not afraid of difficulties and dangers to participate. The Granada Dakar rally will produce one champion in each Motorcycle Group, one champion in each small car group and one champion in each truck group

Introduction to Dakar: after extensive coverage by radio, newspapers and magazines, it has attracted the keen attention of more than 500 million people around the world. The official French name of Paris Dakar is (Le Dakar). The annual games are named after sponsors or regions

2. Contestants
A major feature of Paris Dakar is that, unlike WRC (World Rally Championship), both professional and amateur racing enthusiasts can participate freely and compete together. As Thierry Sabine, the founder of Paris Dakar, said: Paris Dakar is a rally for amateurs that is attractive to professionals.

3. Race route

Paris - Dakar has set the starting point of the race as Paris and the ending point as Dakar for about 10 years after the official opening of the race. But the race schedule changes slightly every year. As time goes on, the starting point and ending point also begin to change. For example, in 1992, the starting point was Paris, and the ending point was Cape Town, South Africa. In 1994, it was Paris Dakar Paris. In 1997, it started from Dakar and returned to Dakar with Nigeria as the turning point. Nearly a quarter of a century has passed since the first race launched by some French adventurers who respected zely Sabin and his spirit in 1979. From Paris Dakar, an amateur competition initiated by a group of adventurers, due to the annual increase in participants, it has become a world-famous rally. Taking the Sahara desert in Africa as the stage, Paris Dakar staged a thrilling scene every year.

4. Match guarantee

1). Expensive
Due to the steep terrain of the main race unit of bayida Auto Rally and the bad local climate, the driver can't run the whole course alone; A well-trained supply and maintenance team must follow to help them deal with accidents such as tire burst. According to the two drivers who participated in the race for the first time, they will have four "logistics" teams responsible for supply and maintenance to serve their Mitsubishi racing car this time, and the cost is quite considerable, almost all of which are raised by the drivers themselves.

2). Strict rules
The Organizing Committee of bayida rally stipulated that because the fuel used by the team in this race is a special variety, the general gas station does not have the ability to provide this kind of fuel. Therefore, when the car is "thirsty", it can only wait for the organizing committee to send a plane to transport the fuel by air. The driver can't solve it by himself at the roadside gas station at will. Once found, he will be judged out. However, in some specific stages, the organizing committee will designate several gas stations where drivers can charge their cars

3). The stage is steep
Since most of the stages of the race are located in the tropical desert, dangerous situations occur from time to time. Every stage will encounter difficulties that ordinary people cannot imagine, and the marathon stage will cause the greatest resistance to drivers. This stage requires drivers to drive all day without stopping halfway, and there is no supply and maintenance team to follow. Therefore, most of the racers "fold" here, including many famous players.

4). It's not easy to rest
Every driver can only "enjoy" a few sandwiches and bottles of mineral water specified by the competition organizing committee every day. I'm afraid it's impossible to "steal" even if he wants to, because drivers are desperately rushing for time to run a few more miles. In addition, the communication problem also makes drivers scratch their heads. If they want to keep in touch with the rear, they can only "solve it by themselves in the news center in the rest area. Each rest area is not close to each other, and the phone fee is not cheap.

5). Origin of the event
"I can take you to knock on the door of adventure, but it is you who open the door to challenge fate
(it is you who open the door of adventure. I can take you with me if you like.)
For those who participate, it is a challenge: for those who do not participate, it is a dream. "
This is what ihery Sabine, the founder of the Dakar Rally in Paris, said

In 1977, Xue Lisa, the founder of Dakar Rally, lost his way in the desert and inadvertently found a place suitable for rallying cold, so he founded the race the next year. The route of rallying cold is from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal. The race will be temporarily suspended only when crossing the Mediterranean Sea. In the following three decades, due to the influence of political and other factors, the race route (including the starting point and the ending point) had to be changed frequently. Early lilisai often crossed Algeria.

In 1992, yubel oriol won the Dakar Rally Championship by driving a car, and previously he won the first place in the Motorcycle Group twice. It made him the first driver to win the championship in both the two and four wheel groups.

The last race route (Paris to Dakar) can be traced back to 1994. It was also a race route from Paris to see off Dakar and then back to Paris. However, due to the complaint of the mayor of Paris, the finish line of the rally was moved from chancelly street to Disneyland in Paris. The organizers will have to change the route frequently since then.
